Domaine des Chandelles Corbieres Rouge
Description
Grapes: 65% Syrah and 35% Grenache
Aged in oak barrels and lightly filtered in order to retain the wines qualities, this is a serious Corbieres. Deep purple in colour with aromas of red berry fruits and spices, in perfect harmony with the wood and supple tannins to follow.
Domaine des Chandelles
A small vineyard nestling between Carcassonne and Narbonne and owned by Peter and Susan Munday, the vineyard benefits from the typical sun drenched Midi climate but retaining the cooling influence from the Pyrenees.
All the wines represent a balance between a modern and technical approach but also a respect for the long-established French practises designed to retain the influence of the terroir in the finished wine. Peter and Susan bought the estate some 15 years ago leaving their native Wales for France, and have had great success with their wines. In their first year, they were awarded the coveted Coup de Coeur by the much respected Hatchette Guide and they have continued since to collect medals from competition all over France.
