Chateau Planeres Cuvee Prestige Rouge
Description
Grapes: A blend of Mourvedre, Syrah and Grenache
Deep red in colour and aged in oak for 12 months to achieve fullness and elegance. Syrah gives the wine its peppery notes, whereas the Mourvedre and Grenache give it the full body and supple tannins.
Château Planères
The vineyard stretches over 100 hectares, with 60 hectares of unbroken ground around the winery. The land is distributed around exceptional soil, with over half of the vines planted on gravel parcels with the rest planted on gravel-clay and calcareous-clay soil.
For generations the Jaubert and Noury families hae shared an equal passion for their vineyards and wines. In 1967 Francis Jaubert took charge of the Côtes du Roussillon Winemakers Association and took up the challenge for quality wine, which paid off in 1977, when the Roussillon wines were awarded AOC status. The people at Château Planères have a commitment and passion to produce great wines, which is in return helped by the soil and a suitable climate.
